Compass Group Investments, Inc. and its subsidiaries ("CGI") acquired Crosman Corporation ("Crosman") in February 2004. Crosman, headquartered in Rochester, NY and originally founded in 1923, is the leading manufacturer of recreational airgun and paintball products. The Company markets a full line of air rifles, air pistols, airgun consumables and accessories, paintball markers, paintballs, paintball accessories and related products under the Company-owned and trademarked Crosman, Benjamin Sheridan, Copperhead, Game Face and Crosman Soft Air brand names and under the Remington, Walther, Colt, Smith & Wesson, Beretta and Logun brands through licensing or distribution agreements.
CGI sold its interest in Crosman in May of 2006 to Compass Diversified Holdings. Compass Diversified Holdings sold its interest in Crosman in January 2007. Over Compass’ ownership and management horizon dating back to 2004, this disposition produced a return of more than 4 times the initial equity deployed.

"Compass' partners are accessible to me whenever needed. And when a strong 'push' is required to complete a transaction, no one works as hard as the people at Compass. I have found negotiating with them as a manager to be a straight-forward process and I consider them to be open-minded and persuadable partners. In the end, while we may not always agree, I have understood their rationale and a fair outcome has always been achieved."
Ken D'Arcy, CEO Crosman Corporation
